Current Timeline

The current contract was ratified by membership vote.

Members ratify a one-year extension to the current contract.  Contract now becomes amendable December 2022 with a provision for early openers in September 2022.

The Master Executive Council (MEC) selected the members of our Negotiating Committee, who will represent us during contract negotiations with management.

Members of the Negotiating Committee and the MEC attended negotiations training.  Training was conducted by AFA International Collective Bargaining and Legal staff.

Negotiating Committee Listening Sessions were conducted.  The Negotiating Committee hosted a series of virtual meetings to hear thoughts, ideas, and concerns about upcoming contract negotiations.

Negotiations survey of all Flight Attendants was conducted to determine contractual bargaining priorities.  The Negotiating Committee used the survey results to help prepare AFA’s Opening Proposal.

Training was conducted to prepare our Mobilization Chairpersons to start their work to support our Negotiating Committee and promote two-way communication between the membership and the committee.

The Negotiating Committee, using information from the Listening Sessions and Negotiations Survey, prepared AFA’s Opening Proposal.  The Opening Proposal was presented to management when negotiations begin.

Contract negotiations began on September 13, 2022.

Current contract became amendable.

Our Negotiating Committee reached a tentative agreement (TA) with management on June 21, 2024.

The tentative agreement (TA) was not ratified. Results were 32% for and 68% against, with 92.4% of eligible voters participating.
