- This week was our second TA2 Mediation Session with management and the mediator assigned by the National Mediation Board.
- Additional progress was made on several provisions this week.
- As the deadline of our condensed timeline approaches, the Committee recognizes the urgency of achieving an agreement.
- The next scheduled mediation session is January 7-9 – no further sessions were scheduled after January.
This week, our Negotiating Committee and Negotiations Strategic Communications Representative met with management and the mediator assigned by the National Mediation Board (NMB) for our second TA2 Mediation Session. *Our Negotiating Committee is supported during this process by AFA International Collective Bargaining and Legal departments.
During the November session, the mediator directed both parties not to disclose specific details – similar to the end of TA1 negotiations. Unfortunately, we are unable to share the TA2 Opening Proposals or other specific details of the sessions. We recognize this is a frustrating directive, and will share what we can. Rest assured we continue working diligently toward negotiating an agreement.
Additional progress was made on several provisions this week. Both parties are keeping the condensed timeline in mind (referenced here and here). As the deadline approaches, the Committee continues to work urgently toward an agreement. The next scheduled mediation session is January 7-9 – no further sessions were scheduled after January.
In solidarity.
Thank you for your hard work. Crossing our fingers we get a TA2 to vote on in January! Do your best and we can hopefully work out what we can’t change now with Hawaiian Spring 2025!
IF any references to “ management or crew scheduling “ discretion remain in TA 2 ..I will vote NO.
