Management recently sent an email to employees celebrating a milestone anniversary with the company this year (10 years of service and every five years after that) with an invitation to this year’s milestone anniversary celebration on September 23. For those of you who received one, we want to congratulate you on reaching these milestones and on your commitment to our career!
Similar to the company’s Summer of Care events, this event is another opportunity to show management that we’re fired up about a contract by turning the celebration into another RED HOT event! If this is a milestone anniversary year for you or you’re invited as a guest, we encourage you to attend the event if you’d like to do so and wear red to demonstrate our solidarity and remind management that we deserve better!
Remember to wear your red AFA pin as well.

Talking about milestone anniversaries, what’s up with the company giving people who are celebrating milestones, miles and money? It seems like over the top and I just heard from an employee that he got an invitation to the party but did not receive the miles and money? Miles and money are great if they continue this for the next 5 years so everyone will get this gift.
We have inquired with management about this and will get back to you once we have a definitive answer.
Update: The new service award celebration money and miles is in addition to the milestone celebration event (and 25+ milestone gifts) for this year. The new “service award celebration money and miles email” will be sent at the beginning of the recipient’s milestone anniversary month. All FAs celebrating will eventually receive this email when it becomes their anniversary month. The only FAs that have not received their “service award celebration money and miles” email as of today are the ones celebrating their anniversary in August or later. They have, however, received the “Milestone Anniversary Party” email invite.
I hope that helps explain why some have received notification of the party, the miles, and the money; while others have received notification of only the party.
