Q: Will the market rate adjustment be inclusive of Boarding Pay?
To be determined. That’s why we couldn’t hammer out a market rate adjustment provision during this round of negotiations. It all depends on where the remaining Flight Attendant groups end up. For example, our Boarding Pay is an average 8% additional pay. Delta is about 6%, and American stated theirs was 8.2%. Southwest doesn’t have Boarding Pay, and United is still negotiating.
We will need to compare everyone’s base pay rates and whether or not they have Boarding Pay to determine a calculation for a market rate adjustment, to ensure we remain competitive when it comes to overall wages.
