Q: Why do we have exclusion language for reassignments but there is no inclusion language, like short staff?
Currently, reassignment pay only applies when flying greater than scheduled or more legs than scheduled. With the significant improvement of reassignment pay for the entire sequence, it was necessary to clarify what does/does not count as a reassignment for pay purposes. Exclusion lists are easier to create as they are more limited than an inclusion list, as anything outside the list would be considered a reassignment for pay purposes.
Anything that is not in the reassignment exclusion list (no reassignment pay) or reassignment exception list (reassignment pay only on the affected duty period) is considered a reassignment for pay purposes.
