Q: When will the Verification Periods happen (holidays, summer, etc.?) and are they the same for everyone?
Management determines when to have one of the three possible Verification Periods. They must announce the Verification Period at least two days in advance, and it can only last for 10 days. The three Verification Periods are the same for all Flight Attendants.
If your Single Continuous Occurrence of Illness (up to 10 days) began prior to the announcement, the absence would be exempt from verification. To require verification, the absence must be for 4 or more consecutive days. If you use CBA sick leave (for any number of days), you are exempt from verification. If you are using the CBA sick leave, there is no verification requirement.
Additionally, you have the option to switch which bank is used for the absence – up until the end of your next scheduled sequence.
