Q: What is the total cost of this Tentative Agreement, and how much actual dollars does that equate to? How does the percentage compare to other workgroups’ recent contracts?
The TA is a 46% increase to current Flight Attendant payroll. It equates to a $525 million dollar increase in Flight Attendant cost over the life of the 3-year agreement.
We are aware APFA recently discussed that management added $1 billion to their deal – it is important to note they are a much larger carrier (largest in the world), so our actual dollar amount will be significantly lower.
We have all signed Non-Disclosure Agreements, in order to review the Company’s financial information. We cannot disclose the percentages of other labor groups, but we can share ours was significantly higher than ALPA’s.
For comparison, ALPA published their maximum wage increase as 23%. Our average increase was 24.4% – already higher, without factoring in other pay provisions we secured (e.g., Boarding Pay).
When we first began discussing the overall comprehensive package, the Company shared their absolute limit for a total percentage increase was 29%. We pushed them significantly higher to arrive at 46%..
