Q: Is there a way to get a better system or upgrade of Crew Access?
We did discuss this, but this software application is a very niche market with a small number of suppliers. If we wanted to switch systems, there aren’t many options to just make a switch – not to mention the expense associated. Each system is custom and requires years to program and implement.
Crew Access is integrated with all other systems – payroll, timekeeping, crew tracking, etc. There would be no effective way through negotiations to mandate a change to the scheduling system which would impact other groups or systems within the company.
HA uses FLICA, so during the merger there is a potential opportunity to discuss – it will be interesting to see how that shakes out.
