Q: Is there a discipline risk to Flight Attendants with the Management Immersion Program?
We don’t think there is any risk. The LOA specifically has a clause indicating the program can be removed if there is a dispute around Single Source Discipline. Management wants to continue the program, so they have a vested interest in complying with the provisions.
Also, this is actually more protection than a Flight Attendant has now if a manager was, for instance, non-reving on a flight. If they see something on any flight where they are a non-rev, they could write it up if they wanted.
If they see something on a flight where they are participating in Management Immersion, they cannot write it up. They can only add perspective to a report from a different source (e.g. a passenger or Flight Attendant report).
If, for some reason, there were two management individuals participating in Immersion on the same flight – they still would not be able to write up anything they saw – unless another individual reported it first (e.g. a passenger or Flight Attendant).
