Q: If this TA is voted down and the cost savings is greater keeping us on this old contract than what Alaska would get with a ratified JCBA, they could drag that process out.
If this TA is voted down and a TA2 is not quickly negotiated and ratified, management will definitely reap a cost savings. The JCBA will not “save the company money”, it will allow them to combine the operation and hopefully reap the financial benefits of the synergies of combining both companies, operations, and networks. The JCBA will definitely be more costly to management because we will demand increases – either from our current CBA base cost, or a new CBA base cost.
