Q: How do we receive the new compensation for delayed transportation or delayed hotel room?
Flight Attendants will need to follow the process outlined in Section 34. There are specific requirements, including notifying Crew Scheduling of the delay and the time they receive their key. This way the wait time is documented. The Flight Attendant is eligible for compensation starting at 60 minutes of wait time. Flight Attendants will submit this information through the Association’s Online Support Center, which will be handled by the Scheduling Review Board (SRB). The members of the SRB will determine, based on the information available to them, if the Flight Attendant followed the applicable procedures and if wait time compensation is due to them.
If a Flight Attendant elects to self help and book their own hotel room after 90 minutes, they will need authorization from Crew Scheduling or Base Management. Flight Attendants will be compensated for their wait time (through the process outlined above) up until their request to book their own hotel room is approved.
