Q: Can you clarify the use of vacation payout on a leave of absence?
On a leave of absence, the Flight Attendant is able to coordinate or take an unpaid leave. Coordination (with sick leave or vacation) is if they want to maintain health insurance and income during the leave. If using vacation, it is a minimum of 2 days per month.
The new provision is the ability for vacation payout while on a leave of absence – this is different than coordinating with vacation.
