Q: Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines recently filed a couple different applications. One was an exemption to operate under common ownership pending approval of mutual transfer of routes. The other was in regards to international flying. Does either affect their ability to delay a JCBA?
No. AS management will be taking the lead in JCBA negotiations. AS has every incentive to negotiate a JCBA because they cannot achieve the synergies of the merger without it.
