Q: A Reserve currently can ask to be released after the last flight departs on the last day of their block. Now Crew Scheduling won’t have to grant the request?
Currently, Crew Scheduling can approve the request for release, or they can deny if they have an assignment such as APSB.
The change in the Tentative Agreement is the notification would have to come before you block in at your domicile. If you call specifically to be released after the last flight departs, they can potentially assign APSB.
The best strategy is to check B2B messaging when you block in. If there are no messages for you, you can go home. You no longer need to check email.
If Crew Scheduling does assign APSB after the last flight departs, you are paid 2x the rate for APSB. Currently, you only receive straight pay.
