Power of the Pin

September 13, 2022 by MEC Communications Committee

  • All in, wear your pin! Let’s show management we are ready for an industry leading contract.
  • Wear your AFA pin with pride every time you come to work to show that we stand together in support of our Negotiating Committee.
  • Need an AFA pin? Be on the lookout for Mobilization Volunteers in your base or contact your Local Council for information about how to obtain a new one.

Time to Mobilize!

Our first negotiation session starts today, and it is time for us to mobilize! Wear your AFA pin while flying and post pictures with your pin on social media using #PutOnYourPin. This is a great way to support our Negotiating Committee. Show management all 6500+ of us are ready for an industry leading contract!

The AFA pin symbolizes our history, spirit, and power in uniting against injustice. Wearing the pin shows pride in the solidarity and power of our workgroup. Special edition and commemorative AFA pins recognize the full diversity of our Flight Attendants and represent our commitment to inclusion.

A Native American Heritage Month AFA pin will be introduced later this year

Make sure to wear your AFA pin while flying, attending training, and attending company meetings (including the CARE Retreat). Let management know we are engaged in the negotiations process and ready to act if necessary. #WeCanDoBetter!

Learn more about the history of our AFA pin in this short video featuring AFA International President Sara Nelson.

Where Does My AFA Pin Go?

Your AFA pin can be worn either on the upper left side of your uniform (above your wings), on the lower third of your lanyard, and/or on the bib of your apron. For more information, check out pages 18 and 19 of the Uniform Policy Guide (AAG sign in required).

Need an AFA Pin?

Be on the lookout for Mobilization Volunteers in your base today!  They’ll have AFA pins available and will be sharing information about how to stay connected with information about negotiations.  If you’re not able to connect with a Mobilization Volunteer today, reach out to your Local Council for more information about how to obtain a new pin.
