- Vacation accruals are based solely on Worked TFP; Boarding Pay is not included in vacation calculations.
- The ¼ vacation credit toward next year’s vacation accrual only applies to accrued (240 or 480) vacation from this year.
- We created reference charts for 480 TFP Requirements and the PPP.
Updated TFP calculators are now available on the AS Inflight Website. Please be aware that the Productivity Premium Program (PPP) calculator is currently underestimating the TFP required to achieve PPP. Flight Attendants will actually need fewer TFP than the calculator indicates. A PPP Calculator User Guide is available in a required bulletin, with step-by-step instructions on how to manually calculate your correct totals by adding State Sick Leave and Boarding Pay (found in the All-in-One calculator).
We recognize this may be frustrating, and AFA is pushing for a fix as quickly as possible. Please also keep in mind that the calculators are not contractual, and manual calculations may be necessary at year-end until the calculators are updated after pay has been posted.
We want to provide clarity on how the 1/4 vacation credit outlined in §14.A.4.a. of the 2025-2028 CBA applies toward the 480 Worked TFP requirement. Please read carefully, as eligibility depends on individual circumstances. To determine if §14.A.4.a. applies to you, review your 2024 Worked TFP and whether your 2025 vacation was accrued (either 240 or 480). The Vacation Calculator should reflect the correct totals as of September 22.
Eligibility for ¼ Vacation Credit Toward the 480 TFP Requirement
Eligible:
- Flight Attendants who accrued all their vacation entitlement in 2025 are eligible to have 1/4 of their vacation TFP from 2025 credited toward the 480 Worked TFP requirement for 2026 vacation accrual.
- Example:
“I’m a 3-year Flight Attendant and I worked 827 TFP in 2025, earning me my full vacation entitlement (2 weeks = 56 TFP). I am eligible for 1/4 credit, which is 14 TFP. Therefore, I only need 466 Worked TFP in 2025 to receive my vacation accrual in 2026.”
- Example:
Eligible:
- Flight Attendants who accrued half of their vacation entitlement (between 240-479.9 TFP) as unpaid in 2025 are eligible to have 1/4 of their vacation TFP from 2025 credited toward the 480 Worked TFP requirement for 2026 vacation accrual.
- Example:
“I’m a 19-year Flight Attendant who worked 248 TFP in 2024. I received 18 days (half of 35 days) of unpaid vacation in 2025 per Section 14.A.4.c. I am eligible for the 1/4 credit, which is 18 TFP. Therefore, I only need 462 Worked TFP in 2025 to receive my vacation accrual in 2026.”
- Example:
Not Eligible:
- Flight Attendants without accrued vacation in 2025 (e.g., did not meet the 240 TFP requirement in 2024) are not eligible for the 1/4 vacation credit toward the 480 Worked TFP requirement for 2026 vacation accrual.
- Example:
“I’m a 22-year Flight Attendant who worked 238 TFP in 2024. I received no paid or credited vacation in 2025 per Section 14.A.4.d. I’m not eligible for the 1/4 credit for 2026. I must accrue 480 Worked TFP in 2025 to receive my 2026 vacation accrual.”
- Example:
Special Consideration – Longevity PTO:
- Flight Attendants with 25+ years of service and more than 960 Worked TFP in 2024 received an additional week of Longevity/PTO. In this case, 1/4 of all 6 weeks (42 TFP- inclusive of Longevity PTO) will be applied as credit toward the 480 TFP requirement for 2026 vacation accrual.
- Example:
“I’m a 27-year FA who worked 985 TFP in 2024. I received 5 weeks of vacation + 1 week of Longevity PTO in 2025 (6 x 28 = 168 TFP). I’m eligible for 42 TFP of credit (1/4 of 168). I now only need 438 Worked TFP in 2025 to receive my 2026 vacation accrual.”
