What a day yesterday was! We all came together yet again – thousands of Flight Attendants from across the industry showing strength and unity on an unprecedented scale. We made it crystal clear that we refuse to be undervalued any longer. Our voices were strong and unwavering, sending a powerful message to management across the industry that we are determined to secure the contracts and improvements we rightfully deserve.
The support we received from Flight Attendants, pilots, labor groups, friends, family, community members, and public officials was simply incredible. Together, we are an unstoppable force. Our Negotiating Committee and Master Executive Council (MEC) are unwavering in our dedication to securing a contract that genuinely recognizes our worth, and we won’t accept anything less.
Our perseverance is already having an impact. Management is feeling the pressure, and it’s only going to get stronger. We have the backing of hundreds of Members of Congress from both the House and Senate, who have signed letters urging the National Mediation Board (NMB) to use all provisions under the Railway Labor Act (RLA) to resolve contract negotiations, including our right to strike. Our Negotiating Committee is gearing up for another round of mediation next week, with a session facilitated by our federally appointed NMB mediator at NMB headquarters in Washington, DC. If management won’t make the deal, we’re more than prepared to take the next steps under the RLA and do whatever it takes to secure our careers and our futures.
