For over a year, we have fought at the bargaining table for a contract that recognizes our value as Flight Attendants at Alaska Airlines. Your Master Executive Council (MEC), in coordination with AFA International, has decided it’s time to take the next step in our fight for a new contract. That step is a strike vote.
The proposed merger with Hawaiian Airlines will not distract or delay our fight for our contract. Now more than ever, we must raise the standard for our careers prior to any merger. We will be strategic and use our leverage in this merger to secure an industry leading agreement. Management’s actions have made it abundantly clear that they have the money.
It’s time to Pay Us or CHAOS™.
Show Your Support on the Picket Line
Today in all six Flight Attendant bases and Washington D.C., we picket to show our solidarity and our resolve. Join one of our pickets or participate in our virtual picket.
Alaska management proposes pay that would leave us lagging the industry and result in making us fall further and further behind in the future. Enough. Management must understand that Alaska Flight Attendants are unified in getting the contract we have earned.
Our negotiations have hit a critical stage. Your solidarity and support is crucial. We remain apart on essential points: max duty day, our right to fly our trips without being rescheduled, fair pay for all hours worked, top of industry pay, and other quality-of-life improvements.
We Will Win the Fight for the Contract We Deserve
We have heard from so many of you that the combination of management disrespect, COVID, passenger rage, and poverty wage rates has made our employment almost unlivable. Instead of recognizing this, management proposes increasing our duty day and expanding 4K flying. The company’s success should be our success – however, it seems they want us to share their costs but not their profits!
With one voice, we will tell management that WE ARE NOT BACKING DOWN. Our Time is Now!
Our pilots voted 99% YES to authorize a strike in 2022. Now, it’s our turn. We encourage you to vote YES for the strike authorization vote. Together, we will win our fight for the contract we deserve.
Our MEC and Negotiating Committee urge you to vote FOR the Strike Authorization and send a united message. We are all in this together and will remain strong.
