Negotiations Update
This week, our Negotiating Committee and Mobilization Committee Chairperson met with management for Negotiation Session 7. *Our Negotiating Committee is supported during this process by AFA International Collective Bargaining and Legal departments.
We mentioned in our last update that progress would likely slow at the start of this year as we began discussing more significant sections. As expected, we did not tentatively agree to any sections during Session 7. We have tentatively agreed on twenty-six sections so far (review Negotiations Dashboard for details). Eight sections are currently in discussion (details below), with eleven sections remaining.
While progress in reaching additional tentative agreements has slowed somewhat, discussion continues at a steady pace. Several of the more significant sections have required Management to consult with their stakeholders and bring those individuals to the table (i.e., Crew Scheduling, Crew Planning, Employee Travel, Inflight Training, etc.). We anticipate conversation will begin soon on economics, and financial analysts from both parties are ready to begin calculating proposal costs.
