Next week, our Negotiating Committee will share our Opening Proposal with management. It’s important to show management all 6500+ Flight Attendants stand in solidarity behind our Negotiating Committee!
In addition to supporting our Negotiating Committee at the table with management, make sure you have access to the latest updates in contract news. Information will be distributed after each session to keep Flight Attendants informed on what’s happening and how the process is going. We will also continue to plan Mobilization Moments throughout the process ensuring management hears our voice and knows we are ready for the contract we deserve!
To showcase our support for the negotiations process, and our passion for contract improvements, we planned our first Mobilization Moment to coincide with the start of the first negotiation session on Tuesday, September 13th.
1. Wear your AFA pin
On Tuesday, September 13th, make sure to wear your AFA pin while flying. Our Mobilization Committee will be present in ANC, SEA, PDX, SFO, LAX, and SAN. The committee and our Mobilization Volunteers will hand out AFA pins and provide easy ways to access AFA updates.
Not flying? Everyone should post pictures wearing your AFA pin on social media – use the hashtags #WeCanDoBetter and #AFAAlaska.
2. Subscribe to AFA emails
If you aren’t already receiving AFA emails in your personal inbox, subscribe here. This will provide accurate and up to date information regarding our contract and the negotiations process. Additionally, check the Contract 2022 website often to access contract FAQs, quick reference documents, video resources, and negotiations updates.
3. Follow AFA social media
Email isn’t your first choice? Follow our social media pages for quick updates on AFA happenings – including contract negotiations. This is a great way to stay informed with regular, easy digestible updates. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

4. Become a Mobilization Volunteer
If you are passionate about negotiations, solidarity, and keeping membership informed- we want you! Please sign up to volunteer for the Mobilization Committee. Having informed, engaged Flight Attendants is essential to our success during negotiations. Mobilization Volunteers play a huge role in sharing information and building solidarity.
We created a Mobilization Volunteer badge for ease of identification – if you see one of these badges, feel free to ask questions about negotiations, discuss the process, and ask how to get involved.
